Myofascial Physical Therapy clinic specializes in the alternative treatment of pain not responding to surgery, therapy, massage and medication. Myofascial Release is a very effective, whole-body, “hands-on” approach, where the therapist applies gentle, sustained pressure to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Staff members have studied under renowned physical therapist John F. Barnes, whose approach to Myofascial Release is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association and American Back Society as the most effective treatment of chronic pain.
Carl Patrnchak, PT, CO, is a licensed physical therapist and board certified orthotist. Founder of Myofascial Physical Therapy LLC, he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northwestern University. Patrnchak was Director of Rehabilitation Services at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center for 18 years and has more than 30 years of experience in diagnosing and treating patients. He is considered an expert Myofascial therapist by the John F. Barnes organization.
Sharon M. Kunkel, PTA, Austin Shearer, PTA, and Kathryn Buck, PTA, complete the staff with experience and quality education from Elgin Community College, well-known for its PTA program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Together, they specialize in acute care, chronic pain, disability care, skilled care, outpatient and sports medicine, and more.
